The World of Love

If you ask me to write about love at this point in my life

If you ask me to write about love at this point in my life I would say it is fleeting moments. I would say it is childhood on the beach in a superman suit with him in a batman one. Holding hands and finding shells at 5 in the morning as the adult's sleep and the sun seep into the sea. I would call it the horrible boy from 2nd grade who only got worse with age. You are sure he hates your guts because you remember him calling you a slut in 5th but his smile filled those same guts with butterflies. I would have to say it is the condescending boy from school who is definitely intelligent but prefers to stay irrelevant. Though when he said you are beautiful you know he wasn't lying. I would always say it's the girl you still can't get out of you're head because she is the image of everything that makes you smile. She may have someone else but you still have the screenshots of when you made her laugh. I would like to describe it as the boy who changed you, helped you when you needed it and held you when you thought you didn't. Loud concerts and after-party bruises, angsty love and broken heart excuses. If you asked me to write about love at this point in my life I wouldn't. At this point what I can say of love is from drinking too much nostalgia, romanticized mistakes, and heartbreaks. I'm sure there's more to it, there has to be. But what I've known of love is fleeting moments of ecstasy, till the comedown hits.
